For those pressed for time, this two-day/one-night safari packs in two of Tanzania’s most beloved national parks. You’ll have the chance to see the Big Five and plenty more as you travel to these two wonderful parks.
You’ll start with a flight from Zanzibar to Arusha Airport and then head to Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara. Here, you’ll see lots of wildlife, including the Big Five. Your accommodation will be in a comfortable midrange lodge. The tour ends with a flight back to Zanzibar.
The journey takes approximately two hours, but we’ll pass through the market town of Mto Wa Mbu along the way. This agricultural and fresh produce market is a melting pot of local cultures and a souvenir hunter’s paradise. After a brief stop at the village market, you’ll enter Lake Manyara, National Park. The park is truly a photographer’s playground and offers some of the best game viewings in the world.
Tarangire National Park, home to Tanzania’s largest elephant population, is a fascinating park during the dry season when the Tarangire River becomes a vital source of water for animals throughout the region. As vast herds of wildebeest and zebra move to the river to replenish, the park’s lions, leopards, and hyenas capitalize in a dynamic display of nature’s cruel beauty.
Get ready for an exciting safari! Your transfer driver will pick you up early in the morning from your hotel in Zanzibar and take you to the airport. You'll fly for about 2 hours to Arusha in a small plane.
Then, your guide will meet you at Arusha Airport and drive for 2 hours to Tarangire National Park. Here, you'll get to see different animals like birds, baboons, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, and elephants. If you're lucky, you might even spot lions relaxing in the trees.
This park is famous for its diverse landscapes, with open grassy areas, forests filled with monkeys, and cliffs with big baobab trees. Afterward, you'll continue with an afternoon game drive before returning to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
