Zanzibar is a small archipelago, consisting of Unguja commonly referred to as Zanzibar Meanwhile Pemba and some 52 smaller surrounding islands and a small island. Zanzibar is located on the East African coast and is cover by the Indian Ocean.
Physically geography of the two islands differs considerably while Pemba is more rough, hilly, higher on the west side and low on the east but Unguja is generally flat with a ridge at the center moving north-south besetting the land into two district parts. Zanzibar islands have Warm tropical climates, where temperatures are relatively high and humid conditions almost throughout the year. The islands experience two green seasons, with the longest and heaviest rainfall from March to May and the short rainfall from September to November.
Temperatures are high with an average of 25’c during the day and as high as 39’c in February as low as 20’c in August. It is humid throughout the year with the predominant south and northeastern monsoons. Due to its position along the coast, the climate is affected by the sea breezes making it more comfortable to visitors even during the warm period.
