During low tide, guests can walk through shallow waters to get there, but as the tide rises swimming or a canoe may be necessary to get back and forth between the mainland and the small island-like rock – so be sure to wear appropriate clothing when visiting!

The seafood is always fresh and delicious and the prices are quite reasonable, at around 20 USD to 40 USD per meal.

2.The Floating Restaurant:

Unlike The Rock, and despite its name, The Floating Restaurant in Zanzibar is not actually floating in the literal sense. It is, however, beautifully perched on a pier above the waters of the Forodhani Gardens in Stone Town. 

Situated amongst other bustling food vendors in Forodhani Gardens, the location is a food-lovers dream. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced at around 10 USD to 20 USD per meal. Relax and enjoy breathtaking views, sipping delicious sundowners while taking in the gorgeous sunset.

The restaurant is open 7 days a week from 10 am-10 pm.

3.The Dreamer’s Island:

The Dreamer’s Island is a picturesque hotel, located approximately 2.1 km from the Peace Memorial Museum. 

For the digital nomads out there, the hotel offers free Wi-Fi and you can set up your mini office for the day in one of the hotel rooms, in the restaurant, bar, or dining area, or perched on the magnificent sun terrace.

Guests of the hotel and other tourists can enjoy delicious meals at the hotel’s Dreamer’s Island Restaurant and Bar, situated on a boat on the water. Breakfast is available daily and guests are spoilt for choice with a variety of breakfast options, including continental and vegetarian. Aside from breakfast, this waterside restaurant also serves delicious, freshly-caught seafood meals, as well as traditional and tasty African fare.
