The park covers 5,700 sq miles, (14,763 sq km), it’s larger than Connecticut, with at most a couple of hundred vehicles driving around.
The Serengeti National Park can be divided into 3 sections. The popular southern/central part (Seronera Valley), is what the Maasai called the “Serengeti”, the land of endless plains. It’s classic savannah, dotted with acacias and filled with wildlife.
The western corridor is marked by the Grumeti River and has more forests and dense bush. The north, Lobo area, which meets up with Kenya’s Masai Mara Reserve, is the least visited section.
The trip starts with a commercial flight from Zanzibar in the early morning and that will take you to Serengeti National Park till early afternoon. Pickup will be arranged from Seronora Airstrip and your local guide will arrange the transportation and the pickup details. While you drive to the lodge, you will be given a short trip around Serengeti. This whole game drive will take hours and by sunset, you will reach a tented camp over the vast Serengeti Plains. An evening drive will be arranged to your Lodge for dinner. That’s it for the first day of 3 days Safari to Serengeti National Park from Zanzibar. On this day, as you wake up early in the morning and have your sumptuous breakfast, you are all set for a full-day game drive at Serengeti National Park. Pickup is arranged from your camp and heads out to Serengeti National Park. This place is the true definition of wildlife and it offers diverse landscapes such as acacia woodland, rolling plains, swamps, rivers, and dry seasonal forests. On the final day, a drive will be arranged from Serengeti National Park to Zanzibar. You will be able to see a different world here. But it is time to go back and take your flight back to your beloved Zanzibar. End of Safari
